Style:
Ray Massey loves to capture different objects and still life photos, and edits them in really cool ways. Another group of photos of his are a photo of a pencil jar that is edited in a way of a hand, he edits still life photos to blend into a hand in multiple other images such as bananas, flowers, and castles. He also loves taking photos of artifacts and food. My favorite photos of his are his hand photography because I find it very cool that he manages to create those images, I think they would be very hard to make.

Philosophy:
Ray Massey's philosophy is to never give up on your dreams and to always follow your heart. His passion was photography and even though his parents wanted him to get a regular job, and not pursue photography in college, he pursued his dreams and went to college and became a photographer. His photography shows a lot of creativity because of his hand photos blending in with objects such as bananas, flowers and castles.

Influence:
This artist has influenced me currently in several ways. He makes really cool hand photography that I would like to try out, and learn to do. He also is really creative with his still lifes and object photography. His professor's influenced him and taught him a lot about photography.

This was a photo of a couple of spoons and some coffee cream mini cups. I don't have coffee cream mini cups at my house so I instead used the candy DOTS as a replacement, because I thought they looked alike, although the colors were not similar. Some challenges I had were finding a similar item to the coffee cream mini cups because they were such a distinct shape. In the end, I went with dots because I thought it was similar.
This image was of a luggage with a reflection of it on the metal floor. I don't ahve any metal floors or reflecting surfaces to take this photo of, so I took it on a wood floor, and then edited it in photoshop so that it would be summetrical with the original shot. I then lowered the opacity so that it would look like a reflection more.
This was a photo of a pencil that the photographer took. I matched this by taking a photo of my own #2 pencil, and used curves and britness adjustments to increase the brightness so that it would further relate to the first image. I struggled with finding a white bumpy surface to take this photo on, so instead I used a table in which I work on a lot.
Artist Statement:
I enjoyed taking these photos, and picked these out because a lot of the other ones would be really hard to re-create or figure out how to edit in photoshop, which really shows how great of a photographer and editor Ray Massey really is. The first image (Dot's o clock) shows how time moves differently for different people and people experience it in different ways. The second image ( Reflected Luggage) shows the viewer that there is two different sides to a story, and how there is always another point of views. The third photo that I took is meant to provide the viewer the feeling of simplicity, because of how simple the image is.
